Better late than never? The end of 2018 and beginning of 2019 have been a little harder than we’d have liked but that shouldn’t stop the blogging! This post is a little insight into what we are going to do and what we would like to do in 2019.

We hope you all have a fantastic year!

This was supposed to be a relaxing day where we did nothing. Also our bodies are starting to get tired now, and our feet are getting achy from all this constant walking and running around. Nevertheless we booked a couple of fast passes for Magic Kingdom just in case.

We got up, but we woke up later than normal, as we needed this lie-in! We got ready as usual and went to Magic Kingdom for the final time. Since we had fast passes booked we went for those rides, but started towards the end of our first fast pass.

As you can tell we did a lot this day! We already planned to return to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom as we knew we would want to go back for rides or shows etc. So we did, but we also decided to have a trip to Disney Springs whilst we were there. Not that we’re far away anyway but we may as well.

So the general plan for the day was: Hollywood Studios for rope drop, do the rides we enjoy and have fast passes for, anything else we think of whilst there. Return home for a relaxing lunch and possibly a nap as we have been starting to get tired. Then head to Magic Kingdom for the evening to do rides there, a couple of photo opportunities and watch the fireworks. Then return home. What we actually did:

Today we opted for a more chilled out kind of day. We started with a 24c sunny swim in our pool at 9am (you can’t do that in the UK!) then headed out to start our day.

We had planned this chilled day in advance as we wanted something as a small break for the theme parks – so we opted to go shopping! When we say shopping what we really mean is a walk around some of the malls, with no particular purpose or requirement to buy anything! That said there were a few things we did need.

We like to visit new places, places that you wouldn’t necessarily just think “let’s go there!” After just spending the weekend in London/Windsor/Maidenhead – which was a spontaneous activity packed weekend – we had a relaxing weekend in Sheffield. We stayed Friday – Sunday and enjoyed ourselves!

The Double Tree Hilton Hotel is where we stayed and it was lovely! We were given warm cookies on arrival, which is super cute. Then we walked into a room with the BIGGEST bed ever, and it had another room with a dining table, couch and another TV. It was like our own mini apartment (without the kitchen).

So we decided a month or so ago that we wanted to buy new suitcases. This is because neither of us has bought a suitcase for years and ours are super heavy compared to the new light weight ones. I personally also wanted ones that matched, because I knew I wanted a cabin case as well as a suitcase and they should be the same design for me. So we had to consider, the sizes, weight, design and where we were getting them from.

Day 3! Our last full day in Glasgow, so why not try any see more of the city? After waking up and getting dressed we discussed getting the Sightseeing tour bus (they operate at a number of cities, not just in the UK) around Glasgow, and using it as a bus for the day to try and go further afield and see what we find. The bus runs about every 20 mins, so operates like a normal bus. We went downstairs again for breakfast at the hotel, and as it has everyday so far the sun was beaming in through the windows. We went online on our phones and booked our tickets (£15 each) for the bus because this was easier than going to find an ATM to get cash out. We went back up to the room and made sure that we had everything in a bag for the day ahead (I carried both of our kag-in-a-bag’s everyday because you never know when the weather will change).

So we left just after 9am to head for the bus stop, and our bus stop was next to this music venue. This music venue looked pretty cool, it has a wagon coming out of the building with a licence plate that says ‘LET U5 IN’.

We booked this long weekend back in November (after having been to Edinburgh for 4 days), and decided to go Saturday – Tuesday as a nice little get-away.

Knowing it would be around a 4 hour drive (with stops) we decided to leave around 8am. Our check in was at 2 however the decision was made for 8am as it would mean we could go else where on the journey up, and have a look around and then go and check into our hotel. The plan is to leave the car in the car park the whole time we are there as we will be paying for the car park and get a discounted rate per 24hrs (£13 instead of £26). Plus public transport in Glasgow is supposed to be pretty good, we’re also staying really close to the city centre so there shouldn’t really be much of a need to drive.

After packing 2 days early, the only things left were the everyday items such as; make up, hair brush, toothbrush, deodorant, etc (me being me forgot my hair brush and had to buy one from Superdrug, luckily I had lots of Superdrug points to spend!) Loading the car up was an easy job (really glad that my first car is a Meriva and not something with a tiny boot), and off we went. Road trip, to Glasgow!
