This may not be the start of the planning, but it is what we have planned and paid for so far. Okay so when we came back from Florida we had instant blues that made us want to go back ASAP. However we don’t have the money to go back to Florida so we have opted for Disneyland Paris. We did book this Paris holiday last year (2018), I’ve been meaning to do this post ever since!!
Better late than never? The end of 2018 and beginning of 2019 have been a little harder than we’d have liked but that shouldn’t stop the blogging! This post is a little insight into what we are going to do and what we would like to do in 2019.
We hope you all have a fantastic year!
So part one of our Berlin blog was primarily about what we budgeted for Berlin, and an overall of what we did/what was going on while we were there.
Part two of our Berlin blog is going to be what we did, what we would recommend and any tips that we would suggest for you if you’re planning on visiting Berlin.
We have been AWOL for a little while, and apologies for that… However we are now back!
Recently we went to spend 4 days in Berlin, to have a nice get away. We booked Berlin back in February to give us something to look forward to after we got back from America (and we were suffering holiday blues). Berlin is somewhere we wanted to visit, and is a nice little city get away that isn’t crazy expensive.
So we haven’t yet done a post about our experience flying with Virgin, this is because we wanted to do both journeys together. In this post we will include: inflight entertainment, the food, the staff and how the flights were generally.
We have already done a post about the V-room and Manchester airport as well as post including Orlando International airport.
This day should be packing, checking out of the hotel, feeling like you’ve forgotten something and heading for the airport.
Well we did our packing 2 days before, because we knew the night before we would be to tired. So it was just a case of putting in the last bits like clothes we’d worn, make up, brushes, toiletries etc. Then do a scan of the place to make sure we have everything, and leave a final tip for housekeeping (we put all the drinks and stuff we had left that hadn’t been opened in a pile on the dining room table along with a cash tip).
Due to our trip to America being very close, we remembered that we need to book our airport parking.
Now this is more difficult than you may first think! First of all have a look on places such as Quidco* for any cash-back opportunities. To be honest I started this with the attitude of “it’s just parking I can pick anywhere”… Honestly don’t look at it like that because your car is valuable and to be leaving it in a random location for 2 weeks is bigger risk than you think. So you need to be sure you’re happy with the car park you pick, and that you’re happy with the company you leave your (probably) 2nd most expensive purchase with.
You need to consider if your car is likely to get damaged, if you’re happy with the location you’re leaving it and if it will be safe. As well as considerations such as where you’re parking in relation to the airport, will you need to get a transfer bus, will you need to walk a lot? We explore all of this within this blog post!
When we made our booking for the holiday, as expected, we were given our flight details. We are leaving on 17th January at 11am to start our 11 hour flight. Prior to this flight is the usual dreaded wait, being stuck in the airport, trying to pass the time, trying not to get really bored and complaining because of course we will be going on holiday!
So after making the booking and having a look around the Virgin website we found a deal; as we are flying from Manchester airport, there is something that Virgin call a V-room. The thing about the V-room is there that isn’t a lot online about it other than what Virgin tell us, nevertheless what is on the Virgin website sounds really good.
