We call it the ‘Dog Cottage’ because we go once a year to a cottage that allows you to take your dogs with you and we take 2 dogs; a chihuahua and a labrador.
We looked at a cottage that was near to some nice walks that us and the dogs could enjoy, it also helps to stay active and not be shopping. We had several requirements that included; a fenced garden so the dogs cannot get out, nice clean and spacious cottage, 2 bedrooms and a large garden.
Since discovering The Gallery at the Odeon cinema, I find it hard to watch a long film (2 hours or longer) without sitting up there. It’s not the cheapest option, so we only sit up there when there’s a good film out such as the new Star Wars films or Avengers or a film we have been wanting to see for a while.
This has to be my favourite way to watch any film, our most recent visit wasn’t the best however there wasn’t anything that would stop me from going up there again.
So this is not our first time to Alton Towers (as you can imagine), however it was our first time seeing the all new Wicker Man ride that they had to offer.
It has been a good 2 or 3 years since we last stepped foot into Alton Towers, though not a lot has changed. Alton Towers has a lot to offer, if you don’t like rides but still want to go when all of your friends do then don’t worry. Alton Towers has wonderful gardens that you can go walking through! The gardens are stunning and are located in the middle of the park.
It’s annoying when you have a free weekend and want to go out but you’re not sure where to go. We get this sometimes, where we try our hardest to think of new places to go to, or things to do and we resort to Google. But sometimes even Google doesn’t really help us.
So we’ve created a list of places in the Northwest of England where we enjoy going, or resort to when we have no-where else to go. So if you’re bored or want to go somewhere new, try out these places. We have visited all of the places on this list so if there are any questions feel free to ask us!
A full 12 hours we spent at Epcot today, and that was a push! 12 hours is slightly overkill for a park the size of Epcot, when you don’t have children. It is only a small park compared to others and after about 8 hours we were trying to find things to do whist waiting for the next fast pass (which was probably our 3rd time on the same ride anyway).
Regardless of this, the park is very very educational and actually a nice fun trip. It’s educational for all ages not just for children but I learnt new things today too. Continue reading
A day away from the parks means a day at the beach. Clearwater Beach to be exact, we already knew we were going here as we had planned it. Clearwater is 2 hours away from where we are staying but we have heard good things, which was why we decided to go.
A 2-hour drive requires a good breakfast! So we went to Denny’s. Not sure what to expect it was filled with locals and tourists all wanting breakfast of course. We had a look through the menu and decided on pecan pancakes. Denny’s was nice, but due to the amount of customers the service was a little slow, but this didn’t bother us.
This post is going to be a little different, instead of saying wen went on this and thought it was good or bad or alright, I’m going to talk on a whole about the day as we did so much.
Animal Kingdom is great, before coming here I hadn’t really heard much if anything about it so I was unsure what to expect. However walking in through a rainforest on the hottest day it has been was very true to form. The whole park is themed so well and all of the décor is amazing! I personally couldn’t get over just how fantastic Pandora world really was; I could’ve sat watching the views and walking around all day.
A PANTOMIME! Shouts of ‘He’s behind you!!’ ‘Booooo!’ ‘Oh no you’re not!’ and many more, all come from the fabulous fun of a pantomime. Great for all ages, children love to scream and shout and there’s a lot of interaction throughout a pantomime. As well as the x rated comments and random adult jokes that children don’t understand, the pantomime is so much fun!
After searching and searching to find a pantomime that we would all like, and finding one that had enough seats for the dates we wanted, as well as being a reasonable price… We got it down to Peter Pan that was showing at the Epstein Theatre in Liverpool.
“Follow the second star on the right and straight on ‘til you reach The Epstein to join Peter, Wendy and The Lost Boys as they dare to battle the evil Captain Hook, in this swashbuckling adventure about the boy who never grew up – full of Pirates, Mermaids, Indians and a devious tick-tocking croc.”
Yes, we went back to Blackpool again this weekend. We’ve spent a lot of time there recently with ‘Ride the Lights’ and seeing the lights in the car, getting our Merlin Annual Passes and now this weekend going to Sea Life and Madame Tussauds. Blackpool is a fun place, and the big arcade Coral Island has a ride inside it! There is also Blackpool Pleasure Beach if you enjoy rides, and an ice rink if you love to skate.
We never stay over, we usually just go up for the day because it is only an hour drive from us. However you wouldn’t be able to do everything in one day (hence we have been so many times recently). If you do just want to spend the day there then I recommend going to the Tower Circus – you do need to book you seats when you arrive in the morning, just tell the staff which time you would like to go and they will hand you a ticket for the show. You can go out and do other things before the Circus time, you do not have to stay in the tower.
